As a native of Redondo Beach, CA, I watched seagulls all of my life. In 1969, while recovering from a serious bicycle accident, seagulls inspired me to seek my own freedom through surfing, sailing, and writing.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull is the first book that I read from cover-to-cover. I have read many of your other books. The story about your first published article when you were in high school inspired me to become a self-help and fiction author.
In times of trouble I imagine the Lake Buccaneer cockpit and reach up to advance the throttles. Thereby I relinquish the surly, mucky, mental, morass that I was stuck in to to soar with Jonathan, Fletcher, and his friends.
I miss sitting at Ports-O-Call in San Pedro and watching the Grumman Goose Amphibians land and take-off in the main channel.
Thank you, Mr. Bach, for making my life better,
Respectfully Yours, Clifford
